Big G little o

The WL Toys v911 design appears to be mostly based on the NE Solo Pro 260a but has several updates and improvements.  Hover is more stable, piros are much easier, and the tendancy to move forward with left stick and backward with left stick has been tuned out in the firmware. Durability is improved also. The stability and ease of flying the v911 make it less useful to prepare you for flybarless fixed pitch and/or collective pitch helis. But it is a very fun and relaxing heli to fly, indoors or out.

This heli flys in a light breeze but quickly becomes a kite. Unless, of course, you enjoy heli wind surfing. I installed a Benma Helios 100 paddle flybar (see video) which helps with wind.

 

Parts are inexpensive, readily available and of good quality. Minimum recommended spares are:

 

• landing gear

• swashplate

• main shaft

• flybars

• tail boom with motor

• canopy (cracks easily)

• blades (optional - I never broke any)
