The Hisky FBL80 (now HCP80) was my first collective pitch heli, purchased shortly after the FBL70 flybarless fixed pitch. I initially flew this (and the FBL70) on the Hisky x6s transmitter. After flying the FBL70 fp, this cp version was an relatively 'easy' step forward. The FBL80 is very small and light, and very quick to move, making it a challenging learning curve.

Specs:

Length - 200mm

Rotor - 200mm dia

Battery - 3.7v 180mah

Weight - 37g

I set this up on my Devo 10 with Deviation 4.0 software, which provided more precise adjustment and control, making it easier to learn and progress. Setting up and refining the FBL80 on the Devo 10 took considerable time and another big learning curve, but control was much easier, although this little heli can be a handfull, and can get away from you very quickly.

Learning to hit Throttle Hold to cut power, instead of lowering throttle, which slams it down with negative pitch, also takes time to learn and become instinctive.

These photos compare the FBL 70 fp with the FBL80 cp.

On the Devo 10 with Deviation 4.0, building muscle memory to instinctively control the quick movements, some might refer to as twitchy, became easier. I set up the Aux 4 & 5 knobs to incrementally adjust AIL and ELE rates rather than use a fixed dual rate switch.

I set up 3 modes:

Mix1: Easy - This had just a bit of negative pitch to keep the heli on the ground while spooling up, but not enough  to cause damage if cutting the throttle instead of activating the Throttle Hold switch.

Mix2: Sport - This was a Throttle-Up mode, with a v-shaped 90-80-90 throttle curve and linear 75% pitch curve with 0% pitch at mid throttle. With servo throws turned dow (via Aux knobs) one could fly (relatively) easily. Maxxing out servo throws to 100% provided a spirited and fast flight, capable of flips and rolls.

Mix3: 3D - This stunt mode was set up with flat 100% thottle and linear 85% pitch for more experienced flyers to carry out basic 3d flight. I was most comfortable in Sport mode.

Generally the Fmode switch is used to switch between Flight Modes but at my limited experience level, I found it much easier to use the Mix switch.
