The Hisky FBL70 was my first flybarless heli. Although it is fixed pitch, it flys more like a cp heli than a flybarred fp heli. This, for me, was another significant learning step. I purchased this with the Hisky X-6S transmitter, which works quite well, but lacks expo adjustment. The newer release is called the HFP80.
Specs:
Length - 200mm
Rotor - 204mm dia
Battery - 3.7v 180mah
Weight - 35g

After a few flights I was able to hover a full battery. Then about half dozen flights later, I was able to do careful circuits. The FBL70 can handle a fair bit of wind but after purchasing the FBL80 (now the HCP80) I found out that the FBL80 cp version is actually easier to fly, especially in any wind. This is a photo from one of my early flights at the campground.
Posing at one of our favourite campgrounds, with an excellent flying field, down by the river.
I changed the canopy to this yellow one when it became available. I find yellow much easier to see outdoors. The FBL70 can get small really fast, making it difficult to determine orientation.
The FBL70 is a favourite to take on our regular summer camping trips. It takes up little space and is easy to recharge the batteries from my portable 12v/120v power pack.
I adapted this case to carry my Devo 10, HT8 module, FBL70fp, FBL80cp and Ladybird QR-V1. Three different flying experiences, all on one transmitter, in one portable package!
I purchased the Hisky HT8 module, which along with aftermarket Deviation 4.0 software, allows me to fly Hisky models (plus many others) on my Walkera Devo 10 transmitter.
The Devo 10 / HT8 combination allows full access to all flight parameters. I programmed 3 flight modes:
-
Tame - expo & limited servo throws
-
Sport - less expo, full servo throws
-
Advanced - negative expo for quick movements, full servo throws, steeper throttle curve
When this canopy came out for the newer version HFP80, I had to have it. Looks great and easy to see.
